As little as possible. Events you create are stored under a random 6-character code with the names and pledge amounts the organizer or participants type in. We don't require accounts, emails, or phone numbers. Your browser keeps a local copy of your event so it survives a refresh.
You can optionally sign in with Google to sync your calcuttas across devices. If you do, we store your email address and name, plus the list of events you've joined, solely to provide that sync. Sign-in is never required to use CalcuttaCalc.
The free version shows ads via Google AdSense, which may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads. See Google's ads policy for how Google uses this data. The optional $5/yr ad-free pass removes ads entirely — ad-free visitors make no ad requests at all.
Payment details — CalcuttaCalc never takes, holds, moves, or pays out money between participants, so there's nothing to collect. The optional ad-free pass is purchased through Stripe, which handles all card details; we only store an anonymous pass token. We don't sell data, period.
Events may be purged after long inactivity. Don't use CalcuttaCalc as a system of record — export your settle-up numbers when the event ends.
If you signed in with Google and want your CalcuttaCalc account deleted, email hello@cuetv.us from the Google address you signed in with, with the subject "CalcuttaCalc account deletion". We'll delete your account record — email, name, and your synced event list — within 30 days and confirm by reply. Event data you entered into a group's shared calcutta (names/pledges typed by an organizer) belongs to that event and is purged on the normal retention schedule above. If you bought an ad-free pass, we keep the anonymous pass token and Stripe purchase reference as required for refund and fraud handling — they contain no personal data and stop being linked to you once the account is deleted. You can also request deletion of your synced data without closing the account in the same email.
